TGS Water was commissioned by Water, Environment and Geo services Ltd to carry out the Geotechnical surveys for the preparatory survey for the project for rural water supply phase II in the Lake Kyoga Basin in Eastern Uganda.
The purpose and scope of the geotechnical investigation was to assess the geological and geotechnical mechanical conditions at the proposed areas for the elevation of the tank facilities and construction of the pipeline, as these could influence the proposed development design. As a result, The SPT was done at the proposed locations for the elevated tanks at 13 targets and for the solar panel location at Lambaala. In total, 14 sites were tested and 3 sites were tested with the DCP; 77 sites and 7 swamps were tested with the DPL. Thus, a total of 80 sites and 7 swamps were tested.
