TGS Water Ltd was commissioned by We Consult to carry out test pumping of 10 existing production boreholes in Rwanda. The main objective of test pumping was to determine the safe yield and optimum installation depth of the pump (hand pump or motorized pump), and establish aquifer characteristics wherever possible. The pump used for this particular job was SQ-5-70, and borehole yields were ranging from 1 – 9 m3/hr. Boreholes were located in different areas including Kirebe, Nyamata, Kayonza, Gatsibo, Cyagakwerere, and Kabare. All boreholes were successfully test pumped and passed the desired tests.
